The National Basketball Association previously known as the Basketball Association of America is a professional basketball league in Northern America composed of 30 teams. The franchise is worth 90 billion dollars, including team related businesses and real estate held by owners. Individual NBA teams primarily make money via ticket sales, merchandise sales and TV deals. through these arrangements, every teams in the league is worth at least i billion dollars and the top three are worth over 6 billion dollars. The richest team, Golden State Warriors, is worth 7 billion dollars.
There has been a rising trend in the collection of revenue from the 2001/2002 season, with the 2021/2022 season amounting to 10 billion dollars. Some of the revenue has been utilised in NBA Cares that works with national and international youth-serving programs that support education, youth and family development and health-related causes.
The players are also making great fortunes with the average annual pay for a professional basketball player being 47,840 dollars. However, most players are making more with then highest paid player being Stephen Curry of Golden State Warriors earning around 48 million dollars.
